Stewart Students Attend Read to Achieve Championship
Several Stewart Elementary students recently attended the Read to Achieve Championship, held Tuesday, March 7, at FedEx Forum. The Memphis Grizzlies Read to Achieve program is in its 16th year and is an excellent way to encourage students to read and develop a love for reading.
Fifth grade student Demarcus Harris, right, participated in the challenge and had the opportunity to go on the court at the arena with Grizzlies players. The Grizzlies, along with sponsors International Paper and KPMG provide this program for students in the Greater Memphis area and beyond and students must read six books, at or above reading level, in six weeks.
